Considering the ski slopes of Steamboat Springs closed a little over a month ago and they are now coming out of what some would call "mud season", everyone is in search of the next outdoor activity.  The answer is on the same mountains that were filled with skiers and snowboarders not so long ago.

The Steamboat Ski Resort turns into a hiking and biking metropolis that they call "The Land Up".  Offering so many options, from the aforementioned hiking and biking to jumping on a bungee trampoline to riding the mountain coaster, there truly is so much fun to be had.  Hauling your mountain bike can be tedious, but the resort offers rentals, so you can just show up ready to ride.

Steamboat Ski Resort offers mini golf, water walking in a giant ball, and tubing down the river.  You really can go to Steamboat and get lost in the plethora of activities.  The resort has free music and sometimes even fireworks on a weekend night, so make sure to plan ahead in order to take advantage of these great additions.

You can catch the gondolas up to mid-mountain and hike down Thunderhead trail or drive up to the Why Not Trailhead, park and start your hike there.  There is a myriad of options, for every preference, so take a look to find out what is best for you and your group.  If a resort is not your thing, there are an abundance of trails that are easily accessible and include just about every skill level.

Some would say that Steamboat Springs is a winter wonderland and that it is, but the area is so much more than just a winter destination.  This mountain town has so much to offer, no matter the season.
